Review of Alicia Keys at the Palau St Jordi in Barcelona

I must admit that it really was a great concert. The queen of R&B strutted her stuff about the stage in the Palau St Jordi like the graceful feline that she is and bewitched the audience with classics such as “Fallin” “You don’t know my name” and “No One”.
She was remarkably punctual, too. She came on at 21:30 and left us at 23:30 and we enjoyed two hours of the great Alicia Keys. It wasn’t one of those stand up, jive in the aisles concerts either. We are talking Alicia Keys here and the whole affair was more sedate, calm and laid back.
One of the highlights was the “jam session” she had with her guitarist whilst playing a keyboard in the shape of a ….. yep you’ve guessed it, a key! Another fine point was when one of her fine female backing vocalists did a solo while Alicia changed attire. It was truly amazing and literally bought the house down!
Songs I enjoyed were “Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart” and “Empire State of Mind” – both amazing.
If you managed to get a ticket for Alicia Keys Freedom tour in Barcelona then I’m sure you’ll agree that it was worth every penny. All in all, a great family night out in Barcelona was had by all. Thanks Alicia !
