Spring is in force in the city of Barcelona and that means one thing: Primavera Sound. A full three days of packed entertainment with the most amazing bands await you. Keep your calendar free for the dates of 27th, 28th and 29th May as this year’s Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona is packing a punch. This is the tenth Edition of this great music festival and is headlined by the Pixies and Pavement.
Other band highlights include the Slits – a veteran female post punk band who will be presenting their new record, Gary Numan of ‘Cars’ fame and The Pet Shop Boys who’ll be playing live for the first time this year. Last year there was a record 80,000 visitors with 171 concerts and this year will be just as big if not bigger.
One of the highlights as well as novelties for this year is Primavera Pro – a specific area for the pros in the music World. The primary objective of PrimaveraPro is to bring together the synergies between music professionals from different backgrounds of the industry such as record companies, booking agencies, promoters, distributors and communication agencies, fairs, festivals and many other bodies. Primavera Pro will have a stage where new bands will be able to perform in order to facilitate the promotion of new artists to record companies and other entities. These showcases are aimed at professionals and the general public.
