Pet shop in Barcelona shows how a boa eats rabbit

A pet shop near Barcelona has been denounced for using a macabre method of attracting clientele. Apparently, the shop had in it’s window display a boa constrictor devouring a rabbit as a means of attracting customers!
The pet shop is said to be somewhere between Badalona and Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Barcelona. Animal protection laws clearly stipulate what a pet shop can and can’t do regarding the sale of animals. The Mossos d´Esquadra applied the law while an animal rights officer denounced the shop owner stating that “the owner provoked this scene of animal cruelty in order to make money out of it”.
Members of Veu Animal have also denounced the lamentable state in which the rest of the animals for sale were kept. Ariadna, one of Veu Animals’ volunteers explained that the animals in the pet shop were kept in dirty surroundings without food or water. Animal lovers are asking for the shop owner’s licence to be revoked and his establishment shut down.
