On the Button – Jensen Button that is

Looks like Jensen Button is running away with the world championship so far. After another great performance by him and team mate Rubens Barichello (another double) with Aussie Mark Webber 3rd and team mate Sebastian Vettel 4th something is telling me McLaren and Ferrari are nowhere near fast catching up to Brawn’s rocket!

This is Jensen’s 4th win now and is leading the championship with 41 points. his nearest rival happens to be team mate Barichello with 27 points. Despite more reliability issues, Ferrari were visibly the most improved team although Kimi Räikkönen had to retire and Felipe Massa was forced to surrender his 5th place to Fernando Alonso due to not having enough fuel to finish the race at normal pace.

Regarding Lewis Hamilton, it appears that some “fans” didn’t quite get the message that racing at Catalunya could be stopped for race-hate taunts: The following is an excerpt from the Daily Mirror
Lewis Hamilton faced another sickening barrage of race-hate taunts at yesterday’s Spanish Grand Prix.

In scenes similar to last year’s race in Barcelona, the F1 champion was subjected to humiliating abuse from a minority of the home crowd.

One grinning yob was shown to millions on TV with his face blacked-up, openly mocking the British racing driver at the Circuit de Catalunya.

Respected Grand Prix veteran and media pundit Eddie Jordan was furious over the insult.

He stormed: “This is utterly and totally unacceptable.” Jordan added: “After what happened previously here with Lewis the fans at this circuit still have a suspended sentence hanging over them.” As the row escalated, circuit director Ramon Pradera said: “We would like to make a plea to the fans to behave correctly.

“No type of offensive behaviour can be tolerated.” Last February some fans were seen blacked up and wearing curly wigs and T-shirts marked “Hamilton Family” at a pre-season testing session at the track.
