Negligence and Machismo in Spain

I still can’t believe what has happened over the past few weeks to a young Moroccan father who had a beautiful wife called Dalila who died through a hospital’s negligence and to add insult to injury and make his heartache complete, the hospital has also killed his baby daughter Rayan.

I thought the days were gone when you used to hear the horror stories about Spanish hospitals whereby you went in for a routine operation to remove a cyst and you ended up coming out with an amputed leg! How can Spain progress as a country when these things happen? I must admit I admire the hospital director for “coming clean” and admitting everything was a “terrorific mistake”.  How many other hospital director’s would have tried to sweep this nasty little incident under the rug? Doctor’s and nurses in Spain and most other countries I suppose are usually “untouchable” when it comes to not being able to save a life because of “complications”.  I bet the insurance company is “cagándose en los muertos del director” for having admitted the mistake was his and his hospital’s.

Women in Spain are generally considered second-class citizens. Now if you add to that explosive mix a Moroccan woman who just happens to be pregnant then second-class citizen in Spain comes up rather short.
Spain is quite a racist country believe it or not and this too should be taken into account. Morrocans are treated like Africans, gypsies and South Americans – especially the ones that look like indigenous indians from the Amazon.

The king of Morocco has sent a plane over so the young man can bury them in his homeland. What a tragic waste of human life that in both cases could have been avoided. Maybe Spanish hospitals didn’t know there just happens to be a global epidemic of swine flu, who knows? If Dalila had been tested for swine flu instead of the doctors asking her husband “What has she got?”, then perhaps both mother and child would be doing fine.

Unless Spain pulls its socks up and stands up to be counted then it will always be 20 years behind other countries like the USA or the UK.

I can be very critic with my country, Spain. But your comment is full of lies and demagogy. You lose all sense of shame or you’re ignorant. Behind USA or the UK? haha, let’s make comparison of public health in these 3 countries… and what do you say about the women in Spain??? oh my good!!! where and when do you live? A country where the marriage between homosexuals is alowed, surely has passed the machismo a long time ago, does it happen in your 20 years advanced country? I could continue, but it would be better if you find out on your own.

  4. @TXUS – Now you must be Spanish with such a crap use of English. Try and learn English first then come back. Cada día me sorprende el uso del Inglés de los españoles. Por favor, hasta vuestros vecinos los de Portugal saben hablar mil veces mejor. Oye guapa aquí también se casan los mariquitas – no te jodes.
