Girl in coma sacked by her bosses in Barcelona

This is quite unbelievable. I’m reading a story today in the local newspaper and it’s quite shocking to say the least. A young girl who works in a fishmonger’s in Palau Solità de Plegamans which is just outside Barcelona has been given her marching orders despite being in a coma!
The girl, Sandra suffered an accident with her motorbike and is in the intensive care unit at Valle de Hebron hospital in Barcelona. She’s been sacked despite her mother presenting the company with the correct paperwork to say she’s ill and not able to work.
The company say that it is sacking her for too much time off work and for not being punctual! The lawyers of the unfortunate girl’s family have now presented charges and want the girl readmitted and damages of 20,000 euros to be paid. The company El Punt del Peix are apparently “not available for comment”.

I’ve just heard that the firm has readmitted Sandra and is paying her the unemployment benefit, too.
