Chelsea robbed by Barça

A last minute goal by Andrés Iniesta made sure Barcelona went through to the final of the champions League in Rome on May 27th. After watching the game last night and enjoying what looks like the only team this year who have managed to rattle Barça’s cage, I must admit I am a bit gutted for Chelsea. It was nice to see a team on par with the mighty Barcelona for once. It was hilarious watching Pep Guardiola get annoyed and frustrated at the same time with a team that matched his own.

Chelsea did such a good job at keeping Barcelona at bay for 90 minutes that poor Messi, Xavi and Iniesta never really got a look in. Isn’t Messi supposed to be the best player in the world?

Anyway, after 4 penalty decisions shunned by the referee who’s been gagged by FIFA by the way, along comes Iniesta and sticks one in on the last minute of injury time. It looked like it was all over and I had just paid for a couple of Estrellas when Andrés stuck it in. To be honest it was a great strike and probably only Iniesta could get away with something like that. Cech didn’t get anywhere near it and maybe he was bored as this was the only thing he had to do all evening!

A match that was typical of this year’s Barcelona. Barça don’t give up that easily and Hiddink really didn’t see that one coming. Taking off Drogba and putting on Belletti might come back to haunt him for years. for goodness sake, Drogba was doing alright and was putting it right up Barça.

Anyway, Barça now have to go through Manchester United if they want to win their 3rd Champions League title. This will not be an easy task for even the mighty Barça on May 27th.

  2. I’m sorry for the chealse suporters, but I accept it as how it comes.

Barça has been playing something else than football and may be this was the present you can get. Chelsea on the other hand may be has had more opportunities, but if you thing about the full 180 minutes, the difference is not that much.

    Take it easy.
