Bicing bike stations to give warning if the bike has not been properly locked

Bicing users now have more security when returning bikes to the bike stations, with a confirmation as to whether the bike has been parked correctly.

The user only needs to put the card in the station reader and a message will appear on the screen. If it has not been parked correctly, the message gives the phone number to contact for incidents, 900 31 55 31.

Electronic receipt

The information will also appear on the users’ area on the Bicing web page (www.bicing.com), 15 minutes after the return of the bike, so it can also be printed out.

You are recommended to always keep the electronic receipt in case of problems. For any incident, Bicing should be immediately informed, using the phone contact number, so there is a record.

With this new system, users can make any complaints by e-mail, attaching the receipt, to reclamacions@bicing.com.

Improvements in the bike rental system include more bikes at the busiest stations and 40 new stations in 2009, further out of the centre.
