It looks like people are still suffering the after effects of another Noche de San Juan from where I’m looking out! Didn’t see too many people on the trains and public transport – all suffering from hangovers I expect.

I just read in the newspaper that there were around 85,000 people celebrating the “Verbena” on Barcelona’s beaches! Amazing!

I also read that the poor people who kindly cleaned up the beaches after said “party” gathered up around 27 tons of rubbish! Yep you heard right mate.

It seems not everyone was in the partaay spirit as the hospitals admitted 95 people, and attended to a total of 269 others – the majority of which were treated for burns and eye problems produced by the bonfires and fireworks. 

The poor fireman also had to make around 156 trips from their burrows to put out fires and the like.
