One of the most important food and beverage fairs in Spain has just got under way with its 18th edition. Alimentaria 2010 Barcelona happens to be one of the leading international events of this type. It will be held at the Fira de Barcelona from 22nd -26th March. This is a magnificent showcase for the international food and beverages industry to show us what’s new and even surprise us!

Around 4,000 well known food and beverage manufacturers and distributors are expected at this year’s Alimentaria 2010. Some 130,000 professional buyers from more than 155 countries will attend this prestigious event in the hope of finding something new.

The exhibition space will be divided into sectors with 13 shows that will be organised by product family. Around 94,500 m2 will be dedicated to exhibition space and associated activities. Alimentaria is also offering an extensive programme of innovation- and research-related activities.

Product Areas

Alimentaria has made it very easy for professionals to visit the exhibition and do business due to its dedicated shows and specialisation of its exhibition space. The whole of the food and beverage industry is therefore represented here at Alimentaria 2010 and it is all organised by place of origin within two pavilions and 13 product shows.

Exhibition Activities

Visitors will be able to enjoy a myriad of activities that the extensive programme offers. These take the form of conferences and scientific activities and allow visitors to explore new trends, business opportunities and new markets. Included in this year’s edition of Alimentaria will be the 8th International Congress on the Mediterranean Diet, the 8th International Food Forum and INNOVAL 2010 that aims to demonstrate that branding should be synonymous with safety, confidence, progress, quality development, business and the creation of jobs.
