Alter Bridge is an American rock band which is based in Orlando, Florida and is formed by members Scott Phillips, Brian Marshall, Mark Tremonti and Myles Kennedy. The band have released two albums, “One day remains” in 2004 with the first single “Open your eyes” and “Blackbird” in 2007 with the single “Rise Today”, and their third album will be released in fall of 2010.
There are many differences between “One day remains” and “Blackbird”, thanks to the talented Myles Kennedy. Their first album was largely written by Mark Tremonti before Myles joined the band, and as a former Creed member he tried to lean to more toward to hard rock/metal sound than the post-grunge that stood out from his previous group. They set off on a tour in the Autumn of 2004 and played all over the world to their fans, and in June 2007 they were rewarded for their focus and determination when they were signed to Universal Republic Records.
The band’s name comes from a bridge on Alter Road in Mark Tremontis childhood home. When he was younger he wasn’t allowed to cross the bridge, which was the border between Detroit and Grosse Point in Michigan, because his parents thought that the neighborhood on the other side was too dangerous. The bridge represents a place of choice and the edge of the unknown. Alter Bridge will perform on the 15th of November at Razzmatazz in Barcelona.
Razzmatazz is located in an industrial part of Poble Nou, and is a nightclub with 5 dance floors with different kinds of music in each room.
