Spanish press hail Alonso

Well well well, the Spanish press are at it again and the Alonso machine has gone into overdrive and the season hasn’t begun yet! Our little Spanish friend managed the fastest time yesterday beating both the Ferraris and the McLarens. If the Spanish press could have said he was driving and old Austin Allegro with manual gearbox they would have thrown that into the mix as well.

Ok fair enough nice drive son but there’s still plenty of work to be done I’m afraid. With the Spanish press in overdrive  (they really make me laugh how they protect their little Asturiano and forgive him of all his little girl tantrums last year) with the fact that Alonso has managed to “thrash” everyone in last year’s car -the R-27 which happened to do diddly squat last season.

I think that the press are laying the foundations for when Alonso slips into the cockpit of his shiny new R-28 and as they pitch him as half super mechanic half Ayrton Senna all the adjustments and fine tuning of the car will have been made by none other than Alonso himself…bless.

Times are as follows:

1. Alonso – Renault 1:19.503″
2.De la Rosa – McLaren 1:19.650″
3.Raikkonen – Ferrari 1:19.708″
4.Rosberg – Williams 1:19.756″
5.Massa – Ferrari 1:19.772″
6.Kovalainen – McLaren 1:19.780″
